Coach or Instructor?

We have turned the calendar to the 2nd month of 2015.

New Year's resolutions are frequently gym and fitness related.  Is your fitness "consultant" more concerned with how many fitness sessions you have signed up for or that you are actually making steady improvement to reach your goals?

The difference between a coach and an instructor is a coach is more interested in the continuous growth of each individual, where an instructor is more concerned with repeated attendance.

The cross over to education is very simple.  I am quick to voice the similarities of teaching and coaching as solely the environment.  Teachers are coaches within their classroom because their essential instructional focus is steady growth and student learning, not simply going through the motions through the conclusion of the course/class.

My question to all fitness goal-setters for 2015:

Are you being coached or instructed?
