- When: 11/11/19
- QIC: Powerball
- The PAX: Charmin, Overdraft, Poutine, The Stig, Disaster, Phantom, Black Sheep, Powerball
On Sunday, YIC put a digital feeler out to the region to see if anyone would be interested in a later-starting Boot Camp for those not working today. A banker quickly responded with similar interest as the educator, followed by a couple of others. Highlands Master Q @Disaster made it official via Slack and the supplemental 7 AM Mettle was set. But I didn’t offer a Mettle. Yet, a Mettle would be delivered.
Eight PAX posted for my VQ Veteran’s Day Mettle. An extended disclaimer was provided. Mosey to the clubhouse for some stairs and then to the far end of the parking lot for…

THE THANG
Circle up with Kettlebells.
Due to YIC’s limited leading with Kettle Bells, a Weinke was needed today. In Honor of Veteran’s Day, the beatdown took an 11/11 theme. Eleven moves, each with 11 reps:
- Squats to Overhead Pres (KB)
- Inchworm
- Curls (KB)
- Kettlebell Swings
- Skull Crushers (KB)
- Figure 8’s (KB)
- Chest Press (KB)
- Lunges (KB optional)
- Single Arms Rows (KB) – each arm
- Merkins
We went around the circle and shared the name of someone who has served this great Nation, their relation (if applicable), and their branch.
Followed by a mosey to the island and back for repeato.
Unsure how long the circuit would take, we successfully completed four complete circuits with just enough time for MARY, which included low-flutters, the squirm, and the W in honor of Denny Hamlin’s win yesterday (appropriate, driver of the #11).

MOLESKIN:
- This was my first Mettle VQ, so hopefully it came close to the level of expectations for the Monday Beatdown, excluding @Poutine’s Trailer of Pain, of course. No one can match that.
- P.S. S/o to @Poutine for doubling-down.
- The format provided a lot of solid 2nd F today. That was intentional.
- While originally seeking interest for a Boot Camp, I am glad @Disaster committed me to lead a Mettle. This morning took me out of my comfort zone. Isn’t that part of the leadership F3 is all about?
- Focus of our closing prayer was in gratitude to all of our Veterans. We get to enjoy so much because of those who have served and are currently serving. Thank you for your service to defend the freedoms of our great Nation.
- It was an honor to lead this group today.
