Knights of Honor - October 2021

The Lake Norman Charter High School Knights of Honor program recognizes students for their personal progress in fulfilling the LNC Honor Code.  The program allows faculty and staff to nominate students who demonstrate one of the four pillars: Honesty, Integrity, Respect, and Responsibility. 

Our October recipients are: Freshman Averi M. (Respect), Juniors Will H. (Responsibility) and Sean H. (Integrity), and Senior Lia H. (Integrity).

Their respective nominations:

Lia was virtual all last year and the work she submitted for journalism was thoughtful, creative, and completed with such attention to detail. Since she was not in class, she had to use my videos and really teach herself the graphic design programs we use in class; she went above and beyond and the extra mile. I am excited to have her again this year to see where her creative talent will take her next. [nominated by Mrs. Cavicchia]

Will has put forth an exceptional effort in Spanish III.  Despite a tough year of language-learning due to the pandemic in levels 1 and 2, Will came in with high expectations for himself & gives each assignment superb effort.  I'm so happy to have him in class this year! [nominated by Mrs. McNeilly]

Sean took it upon himself to help out the many students who have purchased a TI-nspire learn how to use that technology for AP Statistics or AP Calculus by creating a quick guide/FAQ for commonly used functions.  He was never asked to do this and willingly shared this resource with me to provide to my students as I personally do not know how to use that calculator.  He even asked for feedback from anyone on what he should also include or change, as he wanted to make this working Google document a great resource for anyone.  I was blown away by his selflessness to help his fellow classmates. Averi exemplifies respect when she walks into my class every day.  She puts forth wonderful effort into her work and helping others around her.  She is considerate, supportive of her peers, and constantly improving.  Averi has a kind heart and it shows! [nominated by Ms. Coleman]
