Knights of Honor - November & December 2021

The Lake Norman Charter High School Knights of Honor program recognizes students for their personal progress in fulfilling the LNC Honor Code.  The program allows faculty and staff to nominate students who demonstrate one of the four pillars: Honesty, Integrity, Respect, and Responsibility.

Our November & December recipients are: Freshman Aiden S. (Respect), Sophomores Braylon I. (Responsibility) & Jack W. (Respect), Juniors Cameron C. (Integrity), Madey M. (Honesty), Mary Lee P. (Responsibility), & Joey O. (Responsibility), and Senior Cadee P. (Responsibility).

Their respective nominations:
Aiden jumped up the help clean up a mess that was no fault of his own. To see that unselfish behavior from a 9th Grader this early in the school year is special. Keep being a kind person, Aiden! [nominated by Mr. Schroth]

In just a few weeks, Cam has shown more inclusivity than I see in most students during the course of a year. I have seen her intentionally reach out to include her more reserved peers or make new classmates feel welcome. Her compassion and friendliness make Cam an example for her peers in terms of creating a sense of community and belonging among students.  [nominated by Mrs. McClain]

Jack is a compassionate student who is diligent, participatory, and kind-hearted.  He is polite, a hard worker, and a joy to have in class. [nominated by Mrs. Cavicchia]

This is my third year teaching Cadee and she always goes above and beyond in the classroom and outside of school. Not only is she diligent and creative in the classroom, but she has such compassion and joy to share with the world. She is positive and encouraging to all who meet her. [nominated by Mrs. Cavicchia]

Madey was in a situation where she took responsibility for something, to her knowledge at the time may not have been able to have an honest conclusion. Many HS aged students find themselves in this situation and may not say much at all. Madey was able to speak maturely and honestly about what occurred and the situation had the fairest possible conclusion because of it! [nominated by Officer Bononno]

Braylon works extremely hard in my Biology class. He always comes to class ready to learn and works well with others on activities. I am impressed with his ability to do well in the classroom while participating on the basketball team. Thank you, Braylon! [nominated by Mrs. Williams]

Mary Lee always shows everyone she interacts with the utmost kindness and respect daily, despite how she may feel or the type of day she is having. She takes it upon herself to stay on top her academic understanding and seeks out additional help when she needs it. She also makes sure that she remains on top of her workload even when absent by reaching out early on the days that she is out. [nominated by Mr. Awbrey]

Joey has shown tremendous growth in our English class over the course of the semester. He was not satisfied with his grades in the class and has stepped up to earn an A this quarter; he was also chosen as  a group leader on our latest project. He started attending book talks, advocating for himself, and giving 110% in participation. We are so proud of the growth he has shown and that he took responsibility for his education by initiating a change in his study habits [nominated by co-taught team of Mrs. Scire & Mrs. Cavicchia]

Congratulations and thank you to these students for being their best!
