ICYMI: Sept. 1st Principal's Coffee Chat

A tremendous thank you to everyone who attended the Sept. 1st "HS Principal's Coffee Chat".  From what I understand, this was a high-volume of attendance.

For for those parents who were unable to attend, here is a brief summary of the topics discussed, composed primarily of various tweets, hyperlinked blog posts, and links to the LNC website:
(This is a very concise version)

The Chat opened up with an overall appreciation for a very smooth opening to the 2015-2016 school-year.
As any forum, we made sure to share some specific items of success:
In addition, we had 87 AP Scholars for the 2014-2015 school year.

We shared the effective deployment/distribution of iPad's much earlier this year.  We distributed iPad's on the second day of school to returning students and deployed iPad's to students new to LNC the following week.

Junior Kayla C. shared the student-driven "See Something, Say Something" initiative.

Director of Community Relations Sara Lay discussed our 2015-2016 Knight's Fund campaign, the Master Campus Plan, and the College Counseling (linked to tremendous resource for parents) component of our Strategic Plan.

Ms. Costa shared important testing dates, including the upcoming PSAT in October, as well as the importance of planning for the PLAN test (10th Graders), the ACT in March (for all 11th Graders), and the SAT throughout the year.

I concluded the Chat by sharing how important Digital Citizenship is to me professionally and personally and as the Lead Learner of the high school, I take great responsibility for serving as the model for our staff and students. (See related link: Using Social Media to Promote Digital Citizenship)
"Together we learn, lead, and serve."

Thanks for viewing,

CS
