Chatting with N.C.'s Top Teacher: May 18, 2016

The #ncadmin chat motto is "Growing Great School Leaders".  Last year, we began a new tradition of having the Burroughs-Wellcome Fund Teacher of the Year serve as a moderator for an #ncadmin chat.  Each moderator has the autonomy to select their own topic of discussion, as well as the Wednesday evening the chat will occur.

In alignment with the #ncadmin mission, the T.O.Y. provides a unique collaborative learning opportunity for school leaders (and all educators) statewide in the efforts to increase our own efficacy and make a difference in our own schools and districts.

The 2015 Teacher of the Year is Keana Triplett (@teachtrip). The #ncadmin chat topic "N.C. School Accountability" will be Wednesday, May 18th at 8:00 PM EST.

This event will provide opportunities to connect with the top educators in North Carolina and further enhance collaboration, as well as allowing educators expansion of their Professional Learning Network's.

Through the rigorous demand of serving as Teacher of the Year, Ms. Triplett has represented public educators across the state as a sincere advocate for our collective efforts.  I first had the privilege of meeting Ms. Triplett in December, when she was able to present our very own Mr. Brandon Brown with the NC Charter School Teacher of the Year Award.  In addition, I enjoyed hearing Ms. Triplett speak at the recent 2016 Teacher of the Year ceremony.

I am thrilled to have Ms. Triplett moderate, participate, and lead May 18th's #ncadmin chat.  All educators are encouraged to join us and I hope you plan on participating.
