Powerball Lottery Beatdown - F3 Highlands

  • When: 06/07/18
  • QIC: Powerball
  • The PAX: Mugshot, Fame, Black Sheep, Gordo, Ambassador, Barrister, Glock, Gump, Pavarotti, Brinkley, Next Door (named today), Disaster, Greek, Sully, Conchito, Shazam

YHC snatched the Sign-Up Genius for this date a while ago to celebrate the conclusion of another successful school-year.  What better way to open the first potential day of sleeping in than jumping out of bed at 4:45 AM with excitement to Q? 17 PAX, one of which received their name today, were greeted by enthusiasm, a comfortable 67 degrees, and a perfectly timed serenade of Alice Cooper’s classic hit “School’s Out For Summer” (someone checked the SUG).

The shovel flag was planted and a disclaimer was given that no school would be held liable for any injuries sustained today.
Extended mosey snaked through the lower parking lots that included high-knees, butt-kickers, and shuffles, leading us to Warmarama.
WARMARAMA:
  • Side Straddle Hops x 15
  • Imperial Storm Troopers x 15
  • Windmill x 15
  • Cotton Picker x 15
  • Mountain Climbers x 15
  • Merkins x 15 (plus one Burpee for good “nature” [or measure])
Mosey to the HCE Parking Lot.  Partner up for absolutely no reason, simply to split PAX into two groups.
THE THANG:
I officially welcomed everyone to today’s installment of the Powerball Lottery Beatdown.  Each group of eight were lined up next to one of the basketball goals and faced two buckets (one blue, one white).
Located inside the each bucket were 12 Lottery balls and each ball contained an exercise and rep number.  Each PAX takes a turn to sprint to their group’s assigned bucket, pull out a ball randomly, calling out the exercise and reps, and then place the ball in the other group’s bucket.  PAX complete the exercise immediately.  In addition, there were four “Powerballs”, which allows the PAX to select any exercise to be completed.
The Lottery included the following 24 sets:
  • 10 Lunges (each leg)
  • 10 Air Squats
  • 15 Air Squats
  • 20 Air Squats
  • 5 Jump Squats
  • 10 Jump Squats
  • 10 Wide-Merkins
  • 15 Merkins
  • 15 Merkins
  • 20 Merkins
  • 15 Carolina Dry-Docks
  • 20 Carolina Dry-Docks
  • 5 Burpees
  • 7 Burpees
  • 10 Burpees
  • 10 WWII Sit-Ups
  • 10 Reverse Crunches
  • 10 Plank-Jack’s
  • 20 LBC’s
  • 15 Side-Straddle Hops
  • Powerball x 10
  • Powerball x 15
  • Powerball x 15
  • Powerball x 20
Some Powerball exercises included running a lap around parking lot, B2W, and Squirm, to name a few.
We moseyed back to origin for Mary.
MARY:
  • Low-flutter x 25
  • Pretzel Crunch x 10 (with flapjack)
  • Home to Marge x 3
COT & BOM
THE MOLESKIN:
  1. My group never pulled the Wide-Merkins ball, while we pulled the SSH ball an inordinate amount of time.  Tom-foolery with the “random” selections?
  2. Official welcome to @NextDoor who posted Tuesday for the first time and was not scared off by @Disaster’s “DropCloth 400.”
  3. Huge s/o to @Gump for sharing the story before our prayer.  We never know when we will be faced with the opportunity to dramatically impact someone else’s life.
  4. @Gordo has the Q Saturday at Last Call. His beatdown’s do not disappoint.
  5. Prayers to be better husbands, dads, sons, brothers, and servant leaders in our community.  Instead of thinking about what we “have” to do, let’s focus on what “get” to do.
  6. Also, keep those families in mind who are not as fortunate as we all are.  This time of the year provides high-anxiety for many where school is their primary safe-haven.
  7. This was the third Powerball Lottery Beatdown.  I tweaked it a bit to split PAX into two groups, with the goal of some solid 2nd F among your group.  Hopefully you guys enjoyed it today.
See you in the Gloom.
