Admiration for a Colleague

On June 20th, the Town of Huntersville's Board of Commissioners approved the rezoning of the land purchased by Lake Norman Charter for purposes to expand to an Elementary School.
Consequently, our Middle School Principal, Ms. Michelle Holland, announced publicly the following day that she has elected to lead the Elementary School as Principal.

I have tremendous respect for Ms. Holland's decision to step away from her role as MS Principal, where she has been serving our LNC Community for the past eight years, to take on the responsibility of establishing our Elementary School.

I am consumed with nothing short of immense admiration of her willingness to recognize what is best for our entire K-12 Community, especially knowing how difficult is it for her to let go of her current capacity.

We look forward to continuing our partnership, now in a much different capacity.  We will continue to collaborate in our respective school leadership environments; we will definitely be working together on the Interview Committee to help identify and select the next LNC Middle School Principal.

Selfishly, I am thrilled to have such a passionate leader to not only open up our Elementary School in 2017-2018, but also to serve as my daughter's first Principal.  She will be in our inaugural Kindergarten class in 2017 (Class of 2030).

Thank you, Ms. Holland.  From both a colleague and a future LNC parent.

  1. Thank you for your kind words, Mr. Smith! This was a difficult decision as I love my MS staff and students. It is because of this love that I felt the calling to lead our youngest Knights! I know what we are preparing them for in regards to the Middle School and High School expectations. I look forward to working with our new MS Principal along with you and our other administrators to make LNC even greater! I would also like to thank Ms. Stein for her continued support of her team! Looking forward to meeting the Class of 2030 next fall!
