I want to thank all members of the General Assembly for the service to their respective communities and the entire population of North Carolina.
On February 25, Senate Bill 121, also known as "The Excellence in School Leadership Act" was filed, sponsored by Senator J. Tillman (R-Moore, Randolph). Sen. Tillman serves as the Majority Whip, but he is also a retired school administrator. Therefore, it is no astonishment that he sponsored a Bill looking out for the best interest of Principals and Assistant Principals.
You can see a copy of SB 121 here.
Both teachers and school leaders (administrators) need to be valued and supported with adequate pay commensurate with our responsibilities.
Passing of SB 121 will demonstrate the value of recruiting and retaining highly-effective Principals and Assistant Principals within our public schools. Second only to teachers, highly-effective school administrators have a tremendous impact with our students on a daily basis, significantly affecting their learning experience, and thus drastically impacting the future of North Carolina.
Therefore, I support Senate Bill 121 and truly count on the North Carolina General Assembly to do the same.
Thank you for viewing,
CS
