Two Year PAINniversary - F3 Highlands

  • When: 07/24/18
  • QIC: Powerball
  • The PAX: Greek, The Nanny, Ambassador, Phantom, Sandman, Conchito, Hugo, Disaster, Black Sheep, Pavarotti, Brinkley, Klean-Up, #1, Chavez, Gump, Shazam

YHC must have called it a night too early last night, as he awoke to see 3:00 AM on the clock.  After laying awake for over an hour (much to his M’s chagrin), I was able to arrive to the AO early to test the hill condition.  All was good.
16 additional PAX were met by humidity to celebrate my two-year PAINniversary.  Shovel flag was planted, disclaimer delivered, and off we went to the main parking lot.

Warmarama (all x 15):
Side Straddle Hop, Hillbilly, Windmill, Cotton Pickers, Mountain Climbers, Merkins
Extended Warmarama as the PAX were instructed to line up at the nearest basketball goal and proceeded with butt-kickers, high-knees, and shuffles (each side).  Upon reaching one end of parking lot, repeato back to the other end.  Extended mosey to the hill, as the tradition path was ridden with mud from last night’s storm.

The Thang:
10-to-1 Ladder: Burpees at the bottom, Carolina Dry-Docks at the top.
After YHC reminded PAX that “I tested the hill this morning”, one PAX quickly responded,“Did you test the burpees?”  Touche…I had not.  The suck crept in quickly. And there’s your backblast title.
After completion, slow mosey to the entry drive.  PAX lined up in the fire lane for some EMOM (Every Minute on the Minute):
20 Merkins, 10 Jump Squats, 20 Plank Jacks, 10 Broad Jumps
Four rounds (Full-disclosure, while your Q stated the last round was 45 seconds, I had actually been utilizing 45 seconds the entire time.)
Mosey back to starting location.

MARY (all x 20):
Low-flutter, Low-dolly, Squirm, W
COT and BOM

Moleskin:
  1. F3 Dads is at Comanche this Saturday.  Time is still TBD.
  2. Highlands hosts Red Friday on August 3rd.  Per @Disaster, Q is still available.
  3. Official hard launch of F3 Afton is Saturday, August 4th, 7 AM.  There will be no Last Call that day.  I posted at one of their soft launches last Saturday, taking @Gump’s advice to venture out to another AO.  It was a multiple of first’s: first time attending Afton and first time taking any type of advice from @Gump.
  4. The last remaining PAX entered their cars right as the rain started.  I don’t know about anyone else, but it POURED on my way into the office.  Mother Nature was looking out for us today.
  5. Today is a gift.  Let’s look at what we “have” to do and think about what we “get” to do.

Thank you for everyone who came out this morning.  The impact F3 Highlands has made on me over the past two years has been so much more than I ever could have expected.  Here’s to the next 20.
