Inclusive Schools Week

For December, our monthly awareness topic is Inclusive Education, which celebrates the progress that schools have made in providing a supportive and quality education to an increasingly diverse student population.

In alignment with Inclusive Schools Week (December 7 - 11, 2015), Lake Norman Charter High School Student Council will be visiting our 7th Period classrooms on Monday, December 7th and Tuesday, December 8th.

The students will be presenting a brief PowerPoint (linked here) about inclusive education to their peers.  At the conclusion of the presentation, students will fill out a hand with a written commitment or action of how they will practice inclusion in the community.

Student Council will collect the hands and place them on the Awareness Bulletin Board and above lockers throughout the school.

This serves as another example of a student-driven initiative, aligned with our cultural-competency goals through awareness and appreciation.
