Another Powerball Lottery Beatdown - F3 Highlands

  • When: 08/07/18
  • QIC: Powerball
  • The PAX: Parkour, Dime Bag, Ambassador, Drop Cloth, Disaster, Klean Up, Pony Boy, Buffalo Bill, Alcatraz, Black Sheep, Prince Charming, #1, Gordo, Pavarotti, The Nanny, Chowder, Hugo, Shazam, Powerball
YHC noticed the Sign-Up Genius was abandoned for August, so I took it upon myself to take advantage.  The #preblast tweet and Slack post eluded to possible props and asked those planning to attend if they were feeling lucky.  Upon arriving, PAX had the opportunity to write an exercise and rep count on a ping-pong ball; indeed, this was going to be a Powerball Lottery Beatdown.
Descent disclaimer was given, including that no public school would be held liable for any injuries sustained today.  One PAX asked, “What about Charter Schools?”, to which I quickly responded, “Charter school ARE public schools, therefore covered by my disclaimer.”  (By the way, that PAX will go nameless…but he should have known better [Engagement Committee]).
I made the mistake of telling PAX to drop their balls off to me as we moseyed to lower parking lot.  #mumblechatter ensued.

WARMARAMA:
  • Side Straddle Hops x 19 (Aye, @Chowder)
  • Cotton Picker x 20
  • Windmill x 20
  • Mountain Climbers x 20
  • Imperial Storm Troopers x 20
Find a line for some addition Speed Warmarama: lateral line jumps for 30 seconds, right-foot only, left-foot only, then medial line jumps.
Mosey to the HCE Parking Lot, including high-knees, butt-kickers, and shuffles, leading us to The Thang.
THE THANG:
I officially welcomed everyone to today’s installment of the Powerball Lottery Beatdown.  Previously numbered into three groups, one group was assigned the alcove, one to the playground, and the third to the Kyle Busch-style burnout circle.  Each group was assigned a bucket, located in the middle, with the buckets representing the red, white, and blue of our great Nation.
Located inside the each bucket were Lottery balls and each ball contained an exercise and rep number, with the new additions added.  Each PAX takes a turn to sprint to their group’s assigned bucket, pull out a ball randomly, calling out the exercise and reps, and then place the ball in another group’s bucket.  PAX complete the exercise immediately.
The Lottery included the following sets:
  • 10 Lunges (each leg)
  • 10 Air Squats
  • 15 Air Squats
  • 20 Air Squats
  • 5 Jump Squats
  • 10 Jump Squats
  • 10 Wide-Merkins
  • 15 Merkins
  • 15 Merkins
  • 20 Merkins
  • 15 Carolina Dry-Docks
  • 20 Carolina Dry-Docks
  • 5 Burpees
  • 7 Burpees
  • 10 Burpees
  • 10 Reverse Crunches
  • 10 Plank-Jack’s
  • 20 LBC’s
  • 15 Side-Straddle Hops
The PAX additions included:
  • 20 Carolina Dry-Docks
  • 15 Freddy Mercury
  • 20 Monkey Humpers
  • 20 Mason Twist
  • 10 Apollo Ohno’s

QIC called out two more sets for each group, followed by five more Burpees as a collective group.
We moseyed back to origin for Mary.

THE MOLESKIN:
  1. I overheard some regret mid-way through the beatdown; “Why didn’t I write down ‘Airborne Mindbender?”  It would have been accepted, as the proper rules were followed.  Speaking of rules…
  2. There was some cheatin’ going on.  There were no balls containing “Run One Lap.”  Furthermore, while I would like to trust all PAX, I’m pretty sure there was some “selective” decisions being made with the exercises.
  3. The PAX add-on’s provided solid additional bonus core today.  Very nice.
  4. The Sign-Up Genius is almost empty for August.  Q-drenaline is real.  It’s worth it.
  5. In regards to the @F3Skywalker announcement: @Koolaid is rolling out “50 for Friday.” Every time 10 or more post on a Friday at Skywalker, @Koolaid has volunteered to donate $50 to Children’s Attention Home in Rock Hill (CAH is a Christian-based rescue facility housing children from broken homes due to drugs, neglect, parents in prison, etc., including children from infancy to 17 years old.  This incentive runs until the end of November to provide gifts during the holiday season.  @Genie has also volunteered to match the donation.  Pretty awesome work by these PAX, so if Friday Speed isn’t your thing, post to Skywalker. (I’ve tagged Skywalker in this post.)
  6. This was the fourth Powerball Lottery Beatdown.  I continue to tweak it, creating three groups with the goal of some solid 2nd F among your group.  Hopefully you guys enjoyed the full-body work.
Iron Sharpens Iron.  Today is a gift, gentlemen.
