2023 LNC Advanced Placement Success

Advanced Placement Exam scores for 2023 were recently released in North Carolina. Proficiency on the AP Exam requires a level III, IV, or V.

For Lake Norman Charter, here is a rundown of some quick-hit highlights, starting with our overall success: The LNC Proficiency rate was at least 20% higher than the National Average for 11 subjects.

Five subjects had at least 30% higher Proficiency rate than the National Average: Biology, Environmental Science, Human Geography, Statistics, and U.S. Government.

Three subjects had 100% Proficiency: Biology, Chemistry, and U.S. Government.

We were above the National Average in 13 total subjects.

A long-term comparison (2015 v. 2023) shows an increase of our overall proficiency, but also a continued growth of the number of students enrolled (note: the number of students proficient in 2023 exceeds the number of total AP tested students in 2015 with an increase of over 25%):

2015: 341 out of 426 (80.1% proficiency)
2022: 428 out of 524 (81.68%)
2023: 535 out of 652 (82.06%)

Furthermore, you can see the consecutive year comparison above; our # of proficiency scores (535) surpassed the # of tests taken (524) the previous year.

This point of pride can be shared by all faculty and staff as continued evidence of our high academic standards in all subject areas. Our success is a testament to the shared ownership of learning by our teachers and students, as well as the support by our families.

Thank you to our teachers and students for Being Your Best,

#LNCPride
