Bud Henderson Rd. Sinkhole

During the late-night of Monday, July 1st, a sinkhole developed on Bud Henderson Road approximately one-tenth of a mile away from my house in the east-bound lane.

After spending some time examining the area, I am very thankful a terrible accident did not occur in the early-morning hours of July 2nd.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation has stated the sinkhole may not be completely repaired until after Labor Day.  Adding additional stress to my neighborhood and nearby Huntersville residents, Gilead Road is also closed due to a 15-feet stretch of sunken road from the June 28th severe thunderstorm.  NCDOT expects for Gilead Road to be fixed in early-August.
